Best meal I've had in years!!

We took a chance and picked The Cowshed purely on the basis of their advert in the telephone directory. We were bored of going to the same old places in the centre of town andwere looking for something a bit different! Well, we weren't disappointed. The restaurant itself is of a modest but comfortable size and is a tasteful conversion of an old dairy and manages to complement the contemporary style of their food without having destroyed the character of the original building. The food itself was exquisite, portion sizes were ample enough to leave you feeling full without being so stuffed as to spoil the enjoyment and the service was impeccable. The legion of clean plates returning to the the kitchen were testament in themselves!! The menu is large enough to offer a wide variety without being so large as to bamboozle you and the chef quite clearly tries to offer as much local produce as possible. All in all The Cowshed is somewhere we shall definitley be returning to!!
