• just a little more polish and its a star performer

  had a meal & drinks in the anchor today, received good service and decent if pricey food, the beer is a little overpriced, the place is clean and the are staff professional and friendly....a fine visit during the summer as it sits next to the cut and that has a certain appeal to drinkers.advice to the landlord, invest in a few xmas cd's, hearing "stop the cavalry" and "band aid" at least 5 times each today made me want to take my own life, and once someone has declined the offer of a "tab", don't keep mentioning said tab when you go to the bar.

• Nice place for a drink with friends

  This pub is a really nice place to go for a drink a little bit out of the way. It is right next to the canal so you can sit outside and watch the boats go by. the staff are very friendly and there are enough staff that you dont have to wait at the bar for agrs before you get served. The food is very nice and the tables are clean and you have plenty of room not to be on each others lap whilst eating. There are plenty of car parking spaces, so there is no issues with parking. the decor is lovely and warming and inviting.
